Beef Asado Recipe

Beef Asado is rich in flavor due to the slow cooking of the beef with all the ingredients. The beef can be cooked to tenderness a day before so you can skim off the fat making it more heart healthy. Beef asado is a popular Filipino beef dish that are usually sold in small restaurant called "Karenderia" or food courts serving Filipino dishes. It is also a simple dish to cook similar to beef stew or adobo where you only have to put everything in the pot and simmer it until tender.  A perfect dish to serve on special occasions. You can also find it on some restaurant on their menu.

Ingredients:
  • 250g pork
  • 85g Liver Spread
  • 1 tsp. Black Pepper
  • 2 Meduim Size Potatoes
  • 1 Medium Size Onion
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Small Size of Bell pepper
  • 4 oz of tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 2 tbsp. of lime juice or calamansi
  • 1/2 cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 1/2 cups of water

Instructions:
  • Marinate the beef, put it in a mixing bowl, add the soy sauce, calamansi and black pepper.
  • Put it in the fridge for 45 minutes up to 1 hour.
  • Pre heat the pan, put the cooking oil, then sauté the garlic and onion.
  • Add the marinated beef and stir.
  • Now add 2 1/2 cups of water and simmer for 30 minutes or until the meat becomes tender.
  • Add the potatoes and let it cook until it becomes tender.
  • Next add the green bell pepper. then Serve.
